Shopping, of course, never gets old. For the most part, it’s very relaxing to me. Finding great pieces at discounted prices, relaxing with my Starbucks, and people watching…a great way to spend a day doing what I love. This, my followers, is what I consider quality alone time. Doesn’t it feel good to find that one or two items that feel so good when you try it on? Of course there is nothing like a good ol’ shoe shopping kind-of-day!!! On this day, a few Free People pieces and an Anthropologie scarf, seen here, were added to the wardrobe. I’m digging the whole nude and neon trend, especially this Forever21 hi-low cami. It goes with everything. How do you guys feel about this trend?
With less than two months until the big move to California, my days off are filled with sun and spent on the beautiful surrounding lakes in my hometown. Friends have taken up every free day I have and what better way to spend them then on the lake. Of course every outing I attend is another chance to spice things up in the fashion department (work doesn’t allow me to do much of this). I’m currently obsessed with mixing prints, as you can see on Instagram, and this new Anthropologie scarf has appeared many times, maybe even too many. The colors scream “hot Mexico summer” and livens up the black and white floral design on this maxi. Although this day was particularly warm, I could not stand not showing her colors again. Did I mention I got it for only $19?…I just love a good find.
There’s nothing like a week long vacation with your family in your home state. Drummond Island, MI is one of the most beautiful places to see. 4th of July week was one for the books and I’m so happy to say that it will be a repeat next year. Open water bays, kayaking, white sand…PARADISE. I hope you all enjoyed your holiday as well!!!
When dressing, sometimes it’s hard to pick what trend to go with or what color palette to choose. To spice things up, some red piped leopard sling backs brought a splash of “sexiness” to a simple jeans and pale army green top combo. I love the way this rayon top lays and it’s versatility. Dressed down with jeans and flats, or dressed up with a mini and chignon…if only I had known how madly in love I would be with this garment, I would have bought it in every color.
P.S. I forgot my camera so sorry for the corny phone pics!!!
Being a fashion student definitely had its perks. The best of them all was meeting Cynthia LaMaide at her workshop. This women, without a doubt, was the nicest person I have every met. With connections like Lenny Kravitz and being featured in movies with Jennifer Aniston, she sure does have a low-key Michigan vibe about her. Thank you Cynthia for sharing your space, ideas, and advice…
(what I wore: Gap top seen here, old tank, Forever21 scarf & wedges)
As I continue to experiment with mixing prints, stripes and florals have become my all time fav. There’s something that is so timeless about these two prints and together they just fill my fashion heart with joy. Easter was such a beautiful day, so what better way to compliment it with yellow skinnies and bright shoes (that I barely get to wear because they are oh so tall). Moments like these make me appreciate, even more, that I’m a girl!!!
P.S. These photos were taken by my 6 year old niece!!!
(what I wore: skinnies seen here, H&M scarf no longer available, similar Forever21 top here, Forever21 heels, Forever21 & Charming Charlie accessories)
It’s a great feeling to be a Tigers fan and the boys are sure showing the MLB how it’s done. Sunny days like this call for a English D cap, some oversized sunnies, leggings, and a boyfriend sweater. Blues and warm grays have been go-to colors for the winter and it’s been hard to let them go. I’ve pushed the sweater limit so it’s time to pack them away. Every chance I get with this sun is another reminder of just how close summer is. Lakes, bikinis, boats, and cocktails are almost here people…I can feel it now!!!
I’m usually one to pick out an outfit full of girly features like scarves, cardigans, and flowing tops with lots of accessories but every now and then, I get a feeling of something different. Nothing wrong with a little bit of androgyny in your day.
Spring has come early and graduation is right around the corner. I’m so overly excited to have more time to blog and really get to share with all of my followers. With a new season showing up early, brighter colors are starting to appear with an even brighter sun. How excited are you all for this beautiful weather that has graced us with its presence? Waiting for the team to show up for a photoshoot, I couldn’t help but take advantage of this day and the adorable little river behind the buildings. The sound of the water gets me excited for maxi dresses and open-toed wedges. Good bye Uggs…hello tank tops!!!
I’m loving the denim on denim trend that’s popping up everywhere and when I spotted this Old Navy button up, on sale I might add, I knew it was meant to be. Paired with Rock & Republic jeans, the day got colder and the faux fur vest came out. Not an outfit I would have normally put together but as I’m taking more chances and reworking pieces I have, I’m in love with the idea of mixing similar fabrics of different shades. Another masculine vs feminine look that I adore.
P.S. I couldn’t have an at home outfit shoot without our dog babies. Followers…say hello to Dunkin (on the left) and Stoli!!!
